Kumudini Jayadevan hails from Irinjalakuda in Thrissur district, Kerala. Born into a family steeped in culture and tradition that traces its roots to the prestigious Tharananellur Nedumpilli Mana, which has contributed significantly to Kerala's cultural heritage, she was introduced from an early age to India's spiritual and cultural heritage.
She is the grandniece of the late scholar and poet Vadakkekkara Kamalakara Menon, in whose memory the coveted V. Kamalakara Menon Suvarna Mudra is awarded to the winner of the Aksharashlokam recitation competition held annually during the Thrissur Pooram, one of Kerala's most celebrated temple festivals.
Her passion for teaching has remained a constant throughout her life. A Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst by qualification, Kumudini began her career as a lecturer.
She also homeschooled her children, an experience that deepened her understanding of the learning process and continues to influence her approach to writing. Her books are thoughtfully structured, presenting ideas with clarity and a natural progression that guides readers seamlessly from foundational concepts to deeper understanding.
Kumudini is based in Singapore, where she continues to pursue her passion for creating books that bring India's timeless wisdom to readers of all ages.
